East Harling 1-1 Thetford Rovers
The first team entertained local rivals Thetford Rovers on Wednesday evening in their final home game of the season looking to continue their unbeaten end to the season.
With several players missing the home side would have to work hard to continue collecting the points.
The game in all was a very scrappy and tiresome display with both sides having nothing to play for it made for a very dull encounter.
The hosts found the breakthrough early on when Johnson saw his strike bounce of the keeper’s legs but Bareham was on hand to slide home the opener and his 12th of the season.
Moments later the lead was nearly doubled when Scent went close with a free kick and Barnett saw a long range strike palmed round the post by the keeper.
The away side then struck back when a cross into the box was not dealt with well and the Rovers captain fired home from 7 yards past a helpless Woodcock.
Back came the home side and a superb Johnson through ball found Tarft one on one with the keeper but his effort was blocked by an outstretched leg.
Shortly after half time, Allin and Turner-Saint replaced Suggitt and Johnson as the home side went for a change in system.
The substitutes got straight to business and superb play between the pair saw Turner-Saint beat his man but his cross was bravely cleared by the keeper.
Tarft then again went clear on goal but dragged his shot well wide whilst Bareham then Durrant both had headers miss the target.
Senior then blazed high and wide after a good Barnett flick on and then came the closest yet when senior struck at goal Barnett somehow failed to finish with his shot going straight back across goal only for Bareham to connect with but his header went wide again.
Dunkinson then replaced Bareham but the game fizzled out into a very low key end to a local derby.
We now move onto our final game of the season away at Martham this Saturday.
