East Harling 4-0 Caister Res …

East Harling 4-0 Caister Res
The first team entertained familiar opposition at Church Road on Saturday having only beaten the visitors 3 weeks prior in the Norfolk Junior Cup.
With Laws injured and Bareham suspended there was a first start for Dunkinson alongside Durrant at the heart of the greens defence whilst there was a rare start for Watling at left back.
The hosts got off to a quick start when a mazy run by Senior saw the ball fall to Watling who’s shot beat the keeper but was palmed over the bar by a covering defender resulting in a penalty and a red card after only 7 minutes.
Webb stepped up to slam home the penalty and give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
The visitors made a change and looked to sit deep and narrow in a bid to stay in the game for as long as possible.
The change in tactics saw the home side have lots of the ball without really ever threatening the visitors goal.
Webb saw a handful of long range efforts narrowly miss the target and Bray also shot just wide.
Up the other end Woodcock had to be alert to tip over an ambitious effort as the half drew to a close.
After some stern words at half time the home side came out a different team and immediately looked to attack at a quicker pace.
The lead was soon doubled when Bray found Webb in the box to powerfully head home from 6 yards out.
Senior then blazed high and wide after being picked out by a pin point Morris pass and Dolan saw a strike well saved as the hosts hunted a third.
It finally came when Webb robbed a defender and coolly slotted home for his hattrick.
Saint then replaced Bray and Hobley replaced Allin.
Saint got straight to work down the right and after cutting back his left foot cross nearly found Webb but was superbly defended before hitting the post himself with a powerful strike.
The 4th goal came in very familiar fashion with Saint picking out Webb to rise high and head in his 4th of the game and his 16th of the season in green colours.
A 5th goal looked on the cards when Senior cut in and squared to Webb but somehow the big man missed his easiest chance of the game to his disbelief.
The game ended and the greens picked up another big 3 points as they continue their good form.
Next up is a huge away game as they make the long journey to Holt United as 2nd meets 3rd in a tasty looking league encounter.
Well done all….
