East Harling Reserves 1-5 Attleborough Town Reserves
A new look reserve side opened their league campaign looking to impress against local rivals Attleborough Town reserves. The game started at a quick pace with some strong challenges coming in from both sides, the first clear chance fell to away side taking a smart save from new goalkeeper Lee Freeman to keep the scores level. Gareth Hobley was dominating the left wing and as harling grew into the game and started to control the ball a cross into the Harling box was met by an unmarked away side striker to make it 1-0. Not long after the re start a handball on the edge of the away side box let Hobley step up and curl a sublime effort off the underside of the bar 1-1. The scores stayed level until half time and after a good chat Harling knew what was needed in the second half to take the 3 points….unfortunately a poor second half performance where possession was lost far too many times and some poor individual decisions with and without the ball led to Attleborough scoring a further 4 times leaving the final score 5-1. All in all not the start we had hoped for but a lesson hopefully learned and we will certainly be looking for an improvement next week against Scole reserves.
