Freethorpe Reserves 0-8 East Harling Reserves
The reserves made another long trip away this time to Freethorpe reserves hoping to carry on their recent good form. The game started very scrappy with Harling struggling to get the ball down and play football. A whipped in corner from Stuart Crystall led to Dunkinson turning the ball home for his second in as many games and the opening goal, 0-1. The lively Crystall then produced a moment of class scoring Harlings second with an overhead kick from just inside the box, 0-2. The 3rd goal soon came and was another moment of magic this time from the returning Marlow, clipping the ball over his and the defenders head he turned and volleyed the ball into the top corner, 0-3. Despite the score line Harling hadn’t played their best football in the first half so an improvement was needed in the second half and the team soon delivered it as they started to get the ball down and play football. It wasn’t long before Marlow was on the score sheet again with a cool finish through the keepers legs after a flowing move, 0-4. Incredibly it was Marlow who found the net again for his 3rd and Harlings 5th, crashing a shot of the underside of the bar after the ball fell to him in the area. The 6th goal again came to Marlow which was a carbon copy of his previous finish taking his tally for the day to 4 and making it 0-6. The tireless Gareth Hobley got himself a goal after some good team play his initial effort came off the inside of both posts and he was there to tap the rebound home, 0-7. The 8th and final goal was to go to Liam Bloom, after working the ball in the box nicely he then produced a neat finish notching his second goal in as many games. A good performance from the lads and another clean sheet away from home was pleasing.
