Newton Flotman 0-5 East Harling …

Newton Flotman 0-5 East Harling Reserves
The reserves traveled to Newton Flotman in the hopes of collecting back to back victories. With plenty of changes to the squad again the game started pretty scrappy with Harling struggling to get their foot on the ball and keep possession until warren Williams started to stretch the home sides back four. Midway through the first half Williams cut inside his marker and placed the ball nicely in bottom corner to open the scoring, 0-1. The midfield pairing of Cusack and Boddy started to get in the game and control the ball, with the pace of the returning Jacob Stone on the right and Gareth Hobley on the left chances were starting to come thick and fast and it wasn’t long before Williams broke free of his marker again to neatly slot the ball past the keeper, 0-2. The 3rd goal came from a deep cross to the back post which Cusack headed back across goal for full back Liam Bloom to tap home from close range, 0-3. The second half started and Harling dominated the game creating plenty of chances but unable to finish them. The introduction of Connor McCartney for his greens debut and Craig Greenhill for his first appearance of the season freshend things up and Greenhill had an instant impact turning his marker smartly and unselfishly squaring the ball for Williams to finish and claim his hat trick, 0-4. Harling continued to press and push for more goals and when a clever ball by new signing Callum Lyndsay wasn’t cleared by the home side defender, Williams nipped in and lifted the ball over the keeper for the fifth and final goal. A good performance from Harling, creating lots of chances and keeping a clean sheet. Home to division 4 side Stalham Town reserves next week.
